Trying to Help Dad out

I decided that I want to get some Quickbooks training so that I am able to help my father! He has a shop, and he is really bad with managing his finances for the shop. I suppose that I just feel like I really need to help him out, and that is why I am learning new skills. I know that he is never going to hire anyone to help him out because he is insecure about other people looking into his finances, and that is why I feel like it is really up to me to do all of these things for him. I love him a lot, and I just feel like he has a lot of things that he really needs to do. I know that I am trying my very best to help him out, but it is going to take some time, and he is just going to have to wait.

Merchant Service Fees

Changes are coming to the way banks do business with merchant services fees for debit card transactions. Passed as a facet of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 in October, the Durbin Amendment will change the way banks collect debit card transactions from retailers. Smaller banks possessing less than $10 billion in assets will not be subject to the new rules.

The amendment caps debit transaction fees at 21 cents, an additional .05 percent of the transaction total plus 1 cent per transaction to be applied to fraud prevention costs. Before the new rules, the average merchant debit transaction fee was 44 cents.

Major American banks fought hard to maintain the status quo amid rising populist frustration about the economy. Bank of America recently backed off a new plan to charge customers $5 a month to hold a checking account. The Durbin Amendment is expected to save more money for larger box stores like Wal-Mart, as these bigger businesses generate a much larger number of debit transactions.

If you have been on many diets in the past, usually with poor results, the thought of imposing self-discipline, even just restricting meals and snacks to certain times of the day, may feel overwhelming to you.
